LUNAR NEW YEAR (IMLEK)

Meydi and her family celebrate the Lunar New Year with biodegradable and safe sky lanterns, which are much better for the environment and are a more sustainable way to bring in the new year.

CLEANER RIVERS

Meydi visits the Citarum River, once the dirtiest river in the world. Thanks to a reduction in single-use plastics and socio-technical intervention, led by Monash's CARP team, the rive is now safe enough to swim in - something she'd never have dreamed of doing 10 years ago.

Taking a keen interest in all things related to building, cities, architecture and urban planning, Meydi goes to Monash University Malaysia to study Engineering.

NET ZERO

Indonesia achieves net-zero emissions. While they missed the 2070 target set out in 2022 by three years, it's a massive achievement for such a populous country. Monash Alumna Dr Filda Yusigiantoro has been charting Indonesia's low carbon future for over 50 years.

MEYDI STREET

Meydi and her husband move back to Indonesia, where Meydi pivots her career into urban planning. She puts her degree to good use, working on designs and planning for Indonesia's new capital city. They even name a street after her.

NEW CAPTIAL

While Jakarta is now mostly underwater because of rising sea levels, the new capital city is fully thriving.
