A VICTIM OF SLAVERY
Samroze's father Amir was trapped in a cycle of modern slavery until he was provided legal help by the "Modern Slavery Law Clinic". Amir was freed from his factory job and soon found meaningful and fair paying employment in the service industry.
PEANUT ALLERGY
Samroze's parents discover he has a severe peanut allergy. After a trip to the hospital, Samroze makes a full recovery. He's now participating in a trial of Aravax, a peptide immunotherapy utilising fragments of proteins to alter allergic responses. Aravax is being jointly developed with Monash University.
SURFING
Samroze learns to surf at Cherating beach. It becomes a passion that will stay with him for life.
HIGH SCHOOL
Samroze commutes to school every day on a sustainable school bus that runs on lithium batteries developed by Monash University researchers.
GETTING AROUND
Samroze moves out of home to his university's town in Southern Malaysia. He takes the fast train which can reach speeds in excess of 400km/hr.
NEW JOB
After graduating, Samroze starts working as a lawyer in the hope of liberating more people from modern slavery and to prosecute those who enable it.
GRANDKIDS
Samroze welcomes his first grandchild into the world.
A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE
Samroze is now living in aged care. He has his independence thanks to gerontechnology research from Monash University Malaysia, which is the adaptation and development of technology specific to older people.
LEGACY
Samroze lives to the ripe old age of 92 years old. He leaves behind a strong legacy of fighting for the rights of workers.
