FIGHTING SUPERBUGS
Shortly after birth Tait is exposed to an antibiotic-resistant superbug. Thankfully, Monash University researchers have helped develop treatment procedures for these situations. By stimulating his immune system, Tait's body responds immediately and positively. A delicate situation that can now be effectively managed.
GETTING HOTTER
Victoria records its hottest ever temperature at 58 degrees, near Tait's home.
PRINTABLE SOLAR PANELS
Facing ever-increasing power costs, the country has switched to solar energy. Thanks to Monash University researchers, solar panels can now be printed onto windows, turning entire buildings into massive solar panels capable of harvesting sustainable energy.
SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP
Tait comes first in the Australian schools swimming championships.
SAVING INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES
Tait decides to take a more active role within his community, where he begins work in a youth centre with disadvantaged Indigenous kids. Here, he shares some of the work Monash is doing to help save Indigenous language.
SMARTER SHOES
After suffering a footy injury Tait falls in love with the nurse who treated him. Hearing her complain of sore feet he gifts her a pair of shoes specifically designed for medical staff - a pair of Blundstones designed in collaboration with Sensilab. The relationship didn't last, but her shoes are still going.
FIRST INDIGENOUS PM ELECTED
Australia's first Indigenous Prime Minister grew up in Tait's rural community and is a close friend.
FAMILY
At age 87 Tait is a proud father, grandfather of eight, with two great grandchildren.
